NOVO-OGARYOVO, February 17. /TASS/. Russian companies ordered services in the amount of over $300 mln from Belarusian IT companies, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"It was a welcome surprise to me that your [Russian] companies ordered more than $300 mln worth of product from our IT businesses. Payments were more than $300 mln," Lukashenko said.
There were reports that industry employees had fled, the Belarusian leader said. "Everyone was shouting, [they] have run away from Belarus, [they] have left Russia, and so on. Russian orders from Belarus alone were [$] 300 mln and paid. If we take the Russian IT sector, the figure stands at several billion dollars," Lukashenko added.
