Trade turnover between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in 2022 surged by 42% year-on-year

MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. Russia and Kyrgyzstan signed a program of economic cooperation between the two governments for 2022-2026, according to a press release from Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development.

"The parties signed a program of economic cooperation between the government of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022-2026, with the intention of diversifying and expanding bilateral trade, fostering investment, and enhancing scientific and technical cooperation between the two nations. The key program elements relating to Russian side commitments were developed with input from experts from the Russian Ministry of Economic Development," the report said.

Trade turnover between Russia and Kyrgyzstan in 2022 surged by 42% year-on-year, according to Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov. "In January-August of this year, mutual trade between the two countries exceeded $2 bln and increased by 42% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, Russian exports almost doubled," Japarov’s press service quoted him on Wednesday.

He added that Kyrgyzstan "is interested in further building up commercial and economic connections" with Russia, attracting investments and increasing bilateral trade.
