NIZHNELENINSKOYE, April 27. /TASS/. The construction of the Russian section of the first rail bridge across the Amur River, connecting Russia and China, was completed early on Wednesday near the village of Nizhneleninskoye in the Jewish Autonomous Region, a TASS correspondent reported.
The formal ceremony was attended by Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev. He thanked workers for their efforts and decorated them with state awards.
The official said Russia was ready to launch traffic across the bridge and was waiting for Chinese partners to announce that their section was ready as well.
In his words, the bridge is expected to open within a month.
"The negotiations [about full opening] are conducted via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," he said. "It is expected that within a month <…> we will open the whole bridge," the presidential envoy said.
