Russia, Venezuela to open charter flight to Margarita Island in April, says diplomat

Tourism is a new, dynamically developing area of the Russian-Venezuelan bilateral relationship

MOSCOW, March 22. /TASS/. Russia and Venezuela will open a charter flight from Moscow to Venezuela’s Margarita Island in April, Russia’s Ambassador to the republic Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov said in an interview with TASS.

"The sides are currently developing various options of tourism cooperation, including logistics-related details. The opening of a charter flight from Moscow to Venezuela’s Margarita Island, which has already gained the hearts of Russians, is planned in April. More than 12,000 Russian citizens have had vacations there since September 2021," he said.

Tourism is a new, dynamically developing area of the Russian-Venezuelan bilateral relationship, according to the diplomat. "Hopefully, the current restrictions, same as during the pandemic, will provide us with new opportunities," he said.
