HAIKOU, February 16. /TASS/. South China's Hainan is actively expanding cooperation with other countries and celebrating the Year of the White Ox on the lunar calendar (February 12) together with professionals from all over the world, despite the pandemic, reported by the Hainan Daily.

According to the newspaper, there are Russians among the foreigners who have found promising and well-paid jobs on the island. Thus, Anastasia Korytova, who graduated from St. Petersburg State University and is fluent in Chinese, Vietnamese and English, met the lunar New Year with her husband and relatives in the resort city of Sanya, where she works in the marketing department of the municipal administration for tourism promotion.

“The biggest change that has happened in recent years has been the simplification of visa procedures when applying for a job,” she said. “Previously, it took a month, but now it takes 15 days. Indeed, it is very convenient indeed.”

According to Anastasia Korytova, known in the Chinese segment of the Internet under the name Ruan Xiaole (in Vietnamese — Nguyen Hieu Lak), the measures of the Hainan authorities to attract highly qualified foreign personnel made her life much easier. “I’m spending New Year’s in Sanya for the first time and I’m happy that I happened to find myself in such a warm city where spring rules,” she clarified. “I really like life by the sea, and I thought about settling down here.”

As noted by the Russian woman, foreigners on Hainan are attracted not only by the excellent climate and excellent ecology, but also by government benefits, safety, and a sense of comfort in everyday life. She met the New Year surrounded by loved ones, having prepared a Russian pie for the table, as well as wontons — Chinese dumplings, which are usually served in soup.

"On weekends (lasting from 11 to 17 February), my husband and I will travel across Sanya, see local sights, look at 'Small Santorini' (Malin residential complex on the seashore, architecture reminiscent of the famous island in the Aegean Sea and popular among tourists — TASS) ", she shared her plans.
