MOSCOW, February 22. /TASS/. The Russian budget cannot be considered a military budget, it is focused on the needs of a developing country, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with Russian media, including TASS.
In addition to defense spending, the budget includes all social duties and economic development expenses, he stated. "Our budget is not a military one in the highly specialized sense of the word, for example, if we compare it with the Soviet budget during the Great Patriotic War," Medvedev stated, adding that only one-third of the expenses "are associated with the special military operation in the broad sense of the word."
"Around 30% of the federal budget expenditures - trillions of rubles - are used for social expenditures, education, healthcare. Not a single social obligation is forgotten," Medvedev clarified.
"This is the budget of a developing state, but, of course, with very significant spending on defense needs, this is true," he noted.
