Kiev using US, Western weapons to shell schools — Russian diplomat

It was noted that the US, Great Britain and France are also violators of the Safe Schools Declaration because artillery systems and other weapons they supply are being used by Kiev’s militants to deliver strikes on schools and hospitals

UNITED NATIONS, February 13. /TASS/. The United States and Western nations are violating international law as Kiev is using their weapons to attack schools and hospitals, Russian Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Gennady Kuzmin said on Monday.

"The Safe Schools Declaration our former Western partners are so fond of speaking about is totally ignored by those countries that have officially made commitments to it," he said at a meeting of the UN Security Council. "Take for instance such a signatory to the declaration as Ukraine. We see and report non-stop shelling attacks by Ukrainian troops on schools and hospitals, turning them into strongholds and using them for deploying military contingents and covering heavy weapons."

"The United States, Great Britain and France are also violators of the Safe Schools Declaration because artillery systems and other weapons they supply are being used by Kiev’s militants to deliver strikes on schools and hospitals," the Russian diplomat noted. "And as far as the HIMARS systems are concerned, these targets are coordinated with the American handlers of Ukraine. Kiev and Western accomplices are likely to hypocritically declare their commitment to protecting schools and children.".
