Aleppo police chief comments on school attack in city’s western area

The terrorists knew there were no military units in the area and they carried out a strike anyway, Zuher Said Aldin stated

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Terrorists have shelled a neighborhood in western Aleppo despite the fact that there are only schools there and no military units, Aleppo police chief, Zuher Said Aldin, told the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

"There are no military units there, only schools. Nevertheless, militants carried out a strike on this area, moreover, when classes were underway. Innocent children were killed, they just wanted to study," he said.

The SANA news agency earlier reported that a school in Syria’s Aleppo located in Al-Shahba neighborhood in western Aleppo protected by the Syrian army had been shelled with mortars. Three children from Al Wataniya School were killed, 14 others were wounded.

According to the news agency, the city’s neighborhoods have been shelled by gunmen from the Nureddin Zengi movement considered by the United States a moderate opposition group.
