US, Ukraine to hold additional round of talks in Riyadh — advisor

According to Sergey Leshchenko, "the negotiations will continue for a certain period of time"

NEW YORK, March 24. /TASS/. The delegations of the United States and Ukraine will hold an additional round of talks in Riyadh on Monday, Sergey Leshchenko, advisor to Vladimir Zelensky's office, said.

"Now the Ukrainian delegation is staying in Saudi Arabia, not returning, in order to hold their consultations after the conclusion of these [Russian-American] talks <...> as well. That is, the negotiations will continue for a certain period of time," Leshchenko said during a Rada TV channel broadcast.

In turn, The New York Times also reported that the Ukrainian and US delegations will hold talks on Monday evening. According to the newspaper’s sources, the meeting participants will discuss the progress in the ongoing talks between the US and Russian delegations in Riyadh.

A TASS correspondent reported earlier that the talks between the Russian and US delegations have lasted over two hours so far. According to the news agency's source, the sides do not plan to conclude the consultations in the near future.

The first round of talks between the technical teams of Ukraine and the United States took place in the afternoon of Sunday, March 23, with the discussions lasting about six hours. The Ukrainian delegation included Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office Pavel Palisa, as well as representatives of the armed forces and energy specialists. The main topic was the cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure facilities. The representatives of the parties did not provide details of the discussions.
