South Korean acting president accepts impeachment by parliament

Han Duck-soo vowed that he would step down "in accordance with the law so as not to add chaos" to the country’s politics

SEOUL, December 27. /TASS/. South Korea’s acting President Han Duck-soo has announced that he respects the parliament’s decision to impeach him, Yonhap reported.

"I respect the National Assembly's decision, and in order not to add on to the confusion and uncertainty, my duties will be suspended in accordance with relevant laws, and I will wait for the swift and wise decision from the Constitutional Court," the news agency quoted him as saying.

Now his case will be reviewed by the Constitutional Court which may take up to 180 days.
