US to supply Kiev with Stringer, anti-tank missiles, 155 mm artillery rounds

According to Pentagon Press Secretary, this package can meet only Ukraine’s most urgent needs but "is nowhere near enough

WASHINGTON, March 12. /TASS/. The United States’ new $300-million-worth package of assistance to Ukraine will include Stinger missiles, anti-tank weapons, munitions to air defense systems, artillery rounds and other weapons, Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said.

"This package is the 55th tranche of assistance and is valued at up to $300 million and includes capabilities to support Ukraine's immediate air defense, artillery and anti-tank requirements," he told a briefing. "The capabilities in this announcement include Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, additional ammunition for HIMARS, 155 mm artillery rounds, including high explosive and dual purpose improved cluster munition rounds, 105 mm artillery rounds, 84 anti-armor systems, additional rounds of small arms, ammunition demolitions, munitions for obstacle clearing, spare parts, maintenance and other ancillary equipment."

According to Ryder, this package can meet only Ukraine’s most urgent needs but "is nowhere near enough." Further assistance, in his words, will depend on Congress’ approval of the supplemental funding request.
