UNITED NATIONS, March 8. /TASS/. The UN Security Council will hold a meeting on Ukrainian issues on Friday, March 8, the organization’s press service told reporters.

The meeting is scheduled for 23:00 Moscow time. A diplomatic source in the world organization told TASS, the meeting was scheduled at the request of Ukraine with the support of Ecuador, the United Kingdom, and France in connection with the strike of the Russian Armed Forces on Odessa.

On Wednesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces struck a hangar with precision weapons in an industrial area of Odessa, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces were preparing to use unmanned boats. Earlier, the Greek newspaper Protothema reported that the delegation led by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who arrived in Ukraine to meet with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, was not injured during the shelling. According to the publication, the Ukrainian leader’s motorcade, which was 150 meters from the Greek delegation led by Mitsotakis, was attacked by a drone at noon.

The newspaper also noted that a powerful explosion in Odessa occurred shortly before the meeting of the Greek Prime Minister with Zelensky. An air raid alert was immediately declared in the area.
