Sweden's NATO accession protocol enters into force — US State Department

WASHINGTON, March 7. /TASS/. The protocol on Sweden's accession to NATO officially came into force on Thursday, the US State Department said.

"On March 7, 2024, the conditions for entry into force set forth in Article II of the Protocol to the North Atlantic Treaty on the Accession of the Kingdom of Sweden were fulfilled. Accordingly, the Protocol entered into force on March 7, 2024," the department said.

Earlier, the White House said that Sweden will join NATO on March 7. In this case, the flag of the country will be raised at NATO headquarters in Brussels on Monday, March 11.
