HANOI, January 17. /TASS/. Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has resigned from office, the VnExpress news portal reported on Tuesday.
According to VnExpress, his resignation was endorsed by the Vietnamese Communist Party’s Central Committee. Along with that, Nguyen Xuan Phuc ceased to be a Politburo member.
According to Vietnam News Agency (VAN), Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s resignation is linked with the corruption scandals in the government.
