MOSCOW, September 13. /TASS/. Russia's involvement in hacker attack on the WADA anti-doping system is definitively ruled out, the Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
"We can say without a hesitation any involvement in such actions on the part of official Moscow, the Russian government or any Russian secret services is strictly out of the question," he said. "It's simply ruled out."
Peskov said it in response to a claim by WADA hackers based in Russia had intruded its system.
"Unsubstantiated claims of this kind don't adorn any organization unless they have a solid groundwork," he said. "I don't know if the people who issued these statements have any arguments at their disposal."
Peskov recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had already commented on similar accusations of an alleged role of Russian hackers in illegal activities outside of Russia.
Putin said then the hackers of nowadays have a capability of redirect their actions via any third countries. Hence there is no making any half-baked conclusions, Peskov indicated.
Somewhat earlier, the hacking group Fancybear.net, which had broken the story about hacking of the ADAMS system, published the information that WADA had solicited the use of banned substances by U.S. athletes Serena and Venus Williams, the four-time gold medallist at the Rio Games Simone Biles, and baseball player Elena Delle Donne.
WADA issued an impending statement where it alleged that Russian hackers stood behind the hacking of the ADAMS anti-doping system.
