MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Specialists from the Public Communications Network Monitoring and Management Center, a subordinate agency of Russia’s mass media and telecom watchdog Roskomnadzor, detected and repelled 1,152 DDoS attacks in March 2025. These attacks targeted the systems of government agencies, telecommunications operators, e-commerce platforms, media outlets, and organizations in the financial, energy, and transportation sectors.
"In March 2025, specialists from the Center <…> repelled 1,152 DDoS attacks against protected entities, including government administration systems, telecommunications operators, e-commerce enterprises, mass media, as well as financial, fuel and energy, and transportation sectors," the watchdog stated in an official announcement published on its Telegram channel.
According to Center, the majority of attack sources were linked to IP addresses registered in the United States, Taiwan, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Germany. "The maximum DDoS attack intensity recorded during this period reached 988.64 Gbps and 359.33 mln packets per second (pps). The longest attack lasted 141 hours and 12 minutes," the press service added.
Additionally, in March, the Center’s specialists blocked 7,724 phishing websites and 62 platforms distributing malicious software. They also identified and rectified 663 instances of traffic routing violations by 264 organizations.
