At least three people injured in student knife attack on French school — media

PARIS, April 24. /TASS/. A student has been killed and three others have been injured in a knife attack on a French school in Nantes in western France, the TV channel BFMTV reported on Thursday.

The attack occurred at about 12:30 local time (10:30 GMT). A 15-year-old schoolboy armed with a knife managed to enter two classrooms on different floors of the school and began attacking students. He first lashed out with a knife at a high school girl, then went down to the floor below and injured the students of the younger classes. The school building houses a lyceum, a college, and two elementary schools.

Teachers were able to subdue the attacker before police arrived. According to preliminary data, the young man has never previously attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies. Journalists on the air of the TV channel said that the terrorism version is not being considered at this stage.
