Vucic thanks Putin for support against color revolution in Serbia

Serbian President said earlier that an attempt to carry out a color revolution had been made in Serbia during the March protests

BELGRADE, April 24. /TASS/. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin and Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill for their understanding of the developments in his country and their readiness to help thwart a color revolution.

"A color revolution is done with. I am very thankful to the Russian patriarch and president, as well as to the Serbian patriarch for their understanding of what in going on in our country," he said, commenting on Serbian Patriarch Porfirije‘s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill in Moscow on April 22.

"Vladimir Putin spoke about this. He uttered three phrases on this topic: ‘We are keeping a close eye on the situation, we know that this is about a color revolution. We wish you success in your struggle. Just tell us if we can help anyhow.’ That’s it. This is what he told me. So, they are quite aware," Vucic said.

"But this has no chances for success any longer. They did have a chance on March 15 - they planned to eliminate me. <…> Since they failed to do this on that day, it is safe to say - and you know how cautious and pessimistic I am - I can say this quite confidently that this whole story is over," the Serbian leader stressed.

Vucic said earlier that an attempt to carry out a color revolution had been made in Serbia during the March protests. Mass protests against the country's leadership took place in Belgrade on March 15. According to the Serbian Interior Ministry, the number of participants exceeded 100,000.
