World’s oldest conjoined twins die aged 62

Lori and George Schappell were born with conjoined skulls, sharing blood vessels and 30% of their brains

WASHINGTON, April 12. /TASS/. Conjoined twins Lori and George Schappell died at the age of 62, the Guinness Book of World Records said on its website.

The Siamese twins passed away at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on April 7. The Schappell twins lived nine years longer than the second-oldest conjoined twins ever recorded.

Lori and George were born on September 18, 1961 with conjoined skulls, sharing blood vessels and 30% of their brains.

The cause of their death was not disclosed.
