Mordovia court convicts Ukrainian-born woman to 12 years in prison for state treason

The court found that the 31-year-old, convicted in March-April 2023, collected information about FSB officers, military and critical infrastructure facilities in the region

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. The Supreme Court of the Republic of Mordovia has sentenced a Ukrainian woman to 12 years in prison for collecting information on employees of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) department, military and energy facilities in Mordovia and attempting to transfer the data to an organization affiliated with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the press service of the Russian FSB department in Mordovia reported.

"The court [found the woman] guilty of committing a crime under part 3 of article 30, article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code (attempted treason), sentenced her to 12 years' imprisonment, with the sentence to be served in a general regime penal colony," the report said.

The court found that the 31-year-old, convicted in March-April 2023, collected information about FSB officers, military and critical infrastructure facilities in the region. The woman tried to pass the information she obtained to the organization operating under the SBU patronage.
