Life expectancy in Russia to reach 73.18 years in 2023 — health minister

According to the health minister, life expectancy in Russia rose to 72.6 years in 2022, up by 2.5 years on the 2021 level

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Life expectancy in Russia is expected to reach 73.18 years in 2023, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said on Monday.

"When we are speaking about plans for 2023, the item of foremost importance for all is [the goal of] raising life expectancy, for which this year the [forecasted] figure is 73.18 years," he said at a hearing of the health care committee of the State Duma, or lower house of the Russian parliament.

According to the health minister, life expectancy in Russia rose to 72.6 years in 2022, up by 2.5 years on the 2021 level. The forecasted figure for 2022 had been 71.1 years.
