Sales of iPhone XR begin in Russia

Pre-purchase orders have been available since October 19

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. The sales of Apple’s new smartphone, iPhone XR, officially begin in Russia on Friday.

Pre-purchase orders have been available since October 19.

"In the past week, the demand for pre-purchase orders for iPhone XR was consistent and stable. As we have projected, many buyers are still waiting for an opportunity to see those devices with their own eyes… not just on a photo," a spokesperson for the M.Video-Eldorado consumer electronic retail chain said, adding that the black version with the 128GB memory remained the most popular variant among the consumers.

A spokesperson for the re:Store electronic retailer also believes that the demand will grow as consumers get a chance to take a look at the phone.

iPhone XR became the third model, unveiled by Apple since September. The sales of the other two - iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max - began in Russia on September 28. On October 26, the official Apple online store has begun offering iPhone XR in the white, black, blue, yellow and coral versions, as well as in the special color - (Product) Red, with the memory of 64, 128 and 256GB. Prices in Russia range between 64,990 and 77,990 rubles.

Just like its predecessors, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, has no Home button and features the 6,1-inch display with the LCD technology. It is equipped with a single 12-megapixel camera and is powered by the newest A12 Bionic CPU.
