Putin discusses danger of floods with governors of Tyumen, Kurgan Regions

Russian President discussed with the regional leaders the development of the situation in connection with the expected sharp rise in water levels

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with the governors of the Tyumen and Kurgan Regions the danger of floods, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov reported.

"Putin spoke over the phone with Tyumen Region Governor Alexander Moor and Kurgan Region Governor Vadim Shumkov. The head of state discussed with the regional leaders the development of the situation in connection with the expected sharp rise in water levels," the Kremlin spokesman said, adding that the sides pointed to "the need to take measures in advance to help people and their possible evacuation."

Also today, Putin received reports on the flood situation from Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov and Orenburg Region Governor Denis Pasler.
