MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The Russian Civic Chamber does not plan to discuss the withdrawal of the moratorium on death penalty, Chamber Secretary Lidiya Mikheyeva told TASS.

"The Civic Chamber does not plan to discuss the withdrawal of the moratorium on death penalty," she said. "This issue has long been decided upon by our law enforcement."

She underscored that the abolition of the death penalty is one of the most important achievements of Russian history.

"Unless we want to go back to the times of savagery and barbarism, we should all stop and think," Mikheyeva said.
