Fair taxation implies stronger tax burden on people with high incomes — Kremlin

Earlier, in his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to consider "a more equitable distribution of the tax burden" towards those with higher personal and corporate incomes

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin sees the basic principle of fair taxation in the fact that those who earn less should pay less, and people with high incomes should pay more, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Of course, speaking about fairness (of taxation - TASS) he [Putin] said that those who earn less should pay less, and those who have the opportunity to pay more, they receive more income. This is the basic principle of fairness," the Kremlin spokesman said.

Earlier, in his address to the Federal Assembly, Putin instructed the government to consider "a more equitable distribution of the tax burden" towards those with higher personal and corporate incomes. In turn, according to the President, it is necessary to reduce the tax burden on families and those who receive less income.
