MOSCOW, February 21. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Mexican counterpart Alicia Barcena have discussed ways of deepening of the political dialogue and cooperation in trade and the economy, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said in the wake of the meeting held on the sidelines of the G20 ministerial conference.
"They discussed crucial issues of Russian-Mexican relations, including steps to deepen the bilateral political dialogue, the development of cooperation in trade, the economy and cultural and humanitarian areas, as well as the improvement of the legal framework," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Lavrov and Barcena exchanged views on certain key international and regional topics, including interaction between the two countries in the UN, the G20 and APEC.
"The importance of preserving the non-politicized nature of the G20 work in order to increase its effectiveness was stressed," the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out.
