Kremlin still tight-lipped on date of State of the Nation Address

The previous State of the Nation Address was delivered in April 2021

MOSCOW, February 2. /TASS/. The Kremlin is still staying mum on when Russian President Vladimir Putin might deliver his new State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly.

"We will inform you about the date of the State of the Nation Address in due time," Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, replying to whether it would be in February.

A source in the State Duma (Russia’s lower house of parliament) told TASS earlier that it might take place in late February. The probability for the State of the Nation Address to be delivered during those dates is high, another source familiar with the course of preparations noted.

The previous State of the Nation Address was delivered in April 2021. It did not take place in 2022 because of rapidly unfolding developments, the Russian leader said earlier. Putin also stated that he intended to present the next State of the Nation Address in early 2023.
