YEREVAN, November 23. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) needs to strengthen its military potential in the current military and political situation, the organization’s Secretary General Stanislav Zas said on Wednesday.

"Given the current military and political situation, there is an urgent need to strengthen the CSTO’s military potential," he emphasized, addressing a joint meeting of the CSTO’s Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defense Ministers and Committee of Security Council Secretaries.

According to Zas, "there are plans to hold a series of tactical and special exercises involving the CSTO collective forces, which will include elements of peace-building activities, efforts to combat terrorism and respond to crises and emergencies."
