GROZNY, April 13. /TASS/. Chechen military units involved in the special military operation in Ukraine have commenced operation on elimination of mercenary groups in Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov said in his Telegram channel Wednesday.

"Chechen special operations units have commenced a large-scale operation on elimination of mercenary groups in Lugansk People’s Republic. [The groups] mostly include the so-called Ichkeria Battalion, Georgian Battalion and other battalions of criminals," Kadyrov said.

According to Kadyrov, the main front is located in the town of Popasnaya.

"Our fighters display obvious supremacy in large-scale fights," the head of Chechnya added.
