Minor earthquake hits Turkey’s Izmir province, no damage reported – governor

Its magnitude was 4.1

ANKARA, February 27. /TASS/. A magnitude 4.1 earthquake hit the Foca district in Turkey’s Izmir Province, the province’s governor, Yavuz Selim Kosger said on Monday.

"A magnitude 4.1 earthquake was registered in Foca. We have received no reports about human deaths and damage," he wrote on his Twitter account.

According to Turkey’s Emergency Management Agency (AFAD), the epicenter of the quake was located at a depth of 14.5 kilometers in the Gulf of Izmir some five kilometers from the city of Foca.
