Russian stocks up as main trading session opens

The MOEX Index with additional IMOEX2 ticker grew by 0.47% as morning trading session started on the Moscow Exchange

MOSCOW, September 18. /TASS/. Russia’s MOEX and RTS indices added 0.72% to 2,265.32 and 844.23 points, respectively, as the main trading session started on Friday, according to trading data as of 9:00 a.m. Moscow time (6:00 a.m. GMT). The yuan exchange rate against the ruble added 2.3 kopecks compared to previous closing to 12.598 rubles.

By 9:30 a.m. Moscow time (6:30 a.m. GMT), the MOEX Index had extended gains to 0.9% reaching 2,269.12 points, while the RTS was up by 0.9% at 845.85 points. Meanwhile the yuan exchange rate was up by 1.7 kopecks at 12.592 rubles.

The Moscow Exchange has extended the duration of the main trading session by one hour to 10 hours starting September 14. The main trading session on the Moscow Exchange’s securities, derivatives, FX, and precious metals markets will begin at 9:00 a.m. Moscow time (6:00 a.m. GMT). The calculation and publication of the key indices of the Moscow Exchange will also start at 9:00 a.m. Moscow time (6:00 a.m. GMT).
