MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Russia’s industrial production rose by 3.5% in 2023, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said in an annual report at the State Duma (lower house of the parliament).
"Production overall rose by 3.5% in the reporting period, surpassing the most ambitious forecasts. Manufacturing was the main driver as it added 7.5%, setting a ten-year record. It is extremely important that the share of the sector in gross domestic product went up as well, <…> it approached 13%," he said.
Growth of production in machine building grew by over 21%, the prime minister said, adding that the production of machine tools climbed by more than 60%.
