Russian ministry allocates 150,000 tons of extra part of grain export tariff quotas

The tariff quota on supply of wheat and meslin, barley, rye and corn to other non-EAEU countries has been set at 24 mln tons from February 15 to June 30, 2024, Agriculture Ministry said in a statement

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russia’s Agriculture Ministry has allocated an additional part of grain export tariff quotas in the amount of 150,000 tons between exporters, the ministry said in a statement.

"The Agriculture Ministry of Russia has allocated between participants of foreign trade activities an additional part of tariff quotas on supply of wheat and meslin, barley, rye and corn from the country in the amount of 150,087,762 kg," the statement reads.

The tariff quota on supply of wheat and meslin, barley, rye and corn to other non-EAEU countries has been set at 24 mln tons from February 15 to June 30, 2024. Their main part has been allocated by a decree by the Agriculture Ministry dated February 7 between 261 exporters.

"The additional part has been allocated based on requests by organizations that previously received the main part of grain export quotas," the ministry added.

Russia’s Agriculture Ministry suggested in the middle of February that a separate tariff quota on export of grain from the country be introduced until June 30, 2024 in the amount of 4 mln tons. Consequently, it is suggested that the quota that was introduced starting February 15 of this year be increased to 28 mln tons.
