Bank of Russia may expand list of systemic banks

Thirteen credit institutions are currently in the list of systemic banks

ANOSINO, March 1. /TASS/. The Central Bank will revise the methodology of categorizing credit institutions as systemic and this list may be expanded, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Russia Olga Polyakova said.

"We will revise our methodology of categorizing as systemic banks. The list will be probably complemented at the turn of this year," she said.

Thirteen credit institutions are currently in the list of systemic banks. Criteria for their categorization were defined in January 2014. It had been planned initially to designate fifty such institutions but their list was reduced later.
