Travel aggregators association to be created in Russia

The new association is a nonprofit organization and other digital travel industry members can join it later

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Online ticket and hotel booking services will create the Association of Travel Aggregators, the organization told TASS.

"Online ticket buying and hotel booking services are creating the Association of Travel Aggregators. Establishing efficient mechanisms of interaction among key players of the online travel market and supporting initiatives and best practices for the industry development are among the goals of the new nonprofit organization. MTS Travel, Travel, Ostrovok, Tutu, and Yandex Travel have already become members of the Association," it said.

The new association is a nonprofit organization and other digital travel industry members can join it later. Association’s tasks in particular are to develop industry standards of travel aggregators business and promote greater transparency and best practices sharing among all market players, it added.

According to different estimates, the share of ticket online sales is over 50% of the total volume and 32% of hotel bookings are made through Russian travel aggregators.
