Annual inflation speeding up to 7.48% in November — statistics

The price hike for other foods was 2.5% for chicken drumsticks, 2.3% for beef and pork liver, 2.2% for peas and beans, 1.9% for turkey meat, 1.8% for minced meat, cakes and rolls

MOSCOW, December 8. /TASS/. Annual inflation in November 2023 accelerated to 7.48% in November 2023 against 6.69% in October, the Federal Statistical Service of Russia reports.

Consumer prices gained 1.11% month on month, according to statistics.

Foods prices edged up by 1.55% monthly and 7.21% annually. Non-foods prices moved up by 0.53% month on month and 5.58% year on year in November 2023. The cost of services added 1.23% against October and 10.42% in annual terms.

In the foods segment, prices soared by 35.1% for cucumbers, 19.1% for tomatoes, 8.6% for grapes, 6.8% for garlic, 2.9% for fresh greenery, 2.5% for onions and fresh mushrooms, 2.2% for white cabbage, 1.9% for pears and bananas, and 1.8% for grapes. The price drop was 9.4% for oranges, 6.3% for lemons, 1.5% for carrots, and 0.7% for potatoes.

The price hike for other foods was 2.5% for chicken drumsticks, 2.3% for beef and pork liver, 2.2% for peas and beans, 1.9% for turkey meat, 1.8% for minced meat, cakes and rolls, 1.6% for salted herring fillet, olive oil and canned tomatoes, and 1.5% for frozen undressed fish, butter, wheat bread and bakery and polished rice. Prices declined by 1.2% for salmon roe, 0.5% for oats and pearl barley, 0.3% for domestic sparkling wine, vodka, black tea and margarine, and 0.2% for vermicelli and millet.

Natural gas vehicle prices hiked by 3.2%. Diesel fuel prices gained 0.3%. Motor gasoline prices plunged by 0.7%.

Metal tile prices added 1%. Linoleum prices edged up by 0.9%. Chipboards and oriented stranded boards saw the price drop by 0.4%.
