MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. Russia maintains the goal of producing more than 100 mln tons of LNG per year starting 2030, Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov said addressing the State Duma (lower house) on Wednesday.

"The target on LNG remains intact at over 100 mln tons per year starting 2030," he said, adding that "for doing this it is necessary not only to allocate the sufficient resource base but also to ensure technological sovereignty in the LNG sector."

Earlier, Russia’s government submitted amendments to the Duma permitting export of liquefied natural gas from Arctic fields of the Krasnoyarsk Region, the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets autonomous areas. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the extension of the list would allow boosting annual LNG production in Russia to 100 mln tons and higher within seven years, as well as using the capacities of Arctic routes more actively for its transportation to Asian-Pacific countries.
