Grain shipments up 6.2% in December 2022 — Russian Railways

It is noted that about 5.3 mln metric tons of grain were dispatched by rail in the fourth quarter of 2022

MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. Grain shipments by Russian Railways gained 6.2% year-on-year and totaled 2.64 mln metric tons in December 2022, press service of the Russian railway operator said on Wednesday.

"Total grain shipments in December stood at 2.64 mln metric tons (+6.2%), thereby updating the highest level since January 2021," the press service said.

About 5.3 mln metric tons of grain were dispatched by rail in the fourth quarter of 2022, which is 39.8% above indicators in the like quarter of 2021," the company noted.

More than 2.3 mln metric tons were sent by rail to the domestic market in October - December 2022.
