MOSCOW, January 17. /TASS/. The Kremlin expects that the new target of $250 billion a year for trade turnover between Moscow and Beijing will soon be reached and overcome, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.
"China is our great ally and trade and economic partner. We will develop this cooperation. The target of 250 billion [dollars] is absolutely realistic. We hope that it will be reached and overcome in the near future," he said, speaking about the possible timing for reaching this goal. At the same time, the Kremlin spokesman explained, there are no specific dates for this and they "cannot be set."
He also noted that the trade turnover between the two countries is growing very dynamically, and this is "encouraging for both Moscow and Beijing." "The coverage is growing, the number of areas of interaction and cooperation is also constantly multiplying," the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation stated.
