Russia keeps aircraft fleet despite West’s attempts to ground it — PM

Mikhail Mishustin recalled attempts made to isolate the Kaliningrad Region and leave people living there without electricity and food

MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Russia has managed to keep the civil aircraft fleet and continue transportation, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday.

"Threats from representatives of unfriendly states were of such scale not a single country of the world had faced before. They wanted to ground our aircraft fleet in the truest sense of the word. To deprive us of the skies. To this end, they resorted to the most gross violations of international contracts, violated all norms of law," the Prime Minister said. "We nevertheless managed to preserve the aircraft fleet and are expanding now the output of domestic equipment and concurrently develop the route network and introduce new destinations," Mishustin said.

The Prime Minister recalled attempts made to isolate the Kaliningrad Region and leave people living there without electricity and food. "We increased the number of vessels engaged in this sea corridor by five times within the shortest possible timeframe, providing reliable connection to our westernmost region," he added.
