Decision on Mercedes plant to be taken by year-end — Russia’s Deputy PM

It was reported earlier that Mercedes-Benz intends to sell its stakes in Russian subsidiaries to Avtodom dealer

MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. The final decision on the Mercedes plant in the Moscow Region can be taken by the end of this year, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov told reporters.

"There is no final decision [about the plant] so far. However, different ideas are in place, including the Moscow Region and companies interested in this site. I hope we will finalize the decision by the end of the year," Manturov noted.

It was reported earlier that Mercedes-Benz intends to sell its stakes in Russian subsidiaries to Avtodom dealer. The new owner would be able to involve other companies as production partners to organize joint production at the Mercedes plant in the Esipovo Industrial Park in the Moscow Region.
