Austria does not support sanctions on Russian gas — Chancellor

Some European countries depend on Russian gas, Karl Nehammer pointed out

VIENNA, April 4. /TASS/. Austria does not consider the possibility of banning gas supplies from Russia, Chancellor Karl Nehammer said on the air with the Puls 24 TV Channel.

"Austria is not considering the ban on Russian gas import. Not merely Austria but Germany, Romania, Bulgaria and other countries depend on Russian gas. This is an unreasonable measure because it harms those who introduce it," the Chancellor said.

New EU sanctions against Russia must be reasonable, Nehammer added.
