MOSCOW, February 28. The United States increased the volume of imports of Russian oil in 2021 2.7-fold compared to 2020 to 72.608 mln barrels, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) of the US Department of Energy announced on Monday.
The US also increased imports of Russian oil products - by 1.5% to 172.586 mln barrels. In terms of total exports of oil and petroleum products to the United States in 2021, Russia ranked third among all exporting countries, supplying 245.194 mln barrels. Canada ranked first with 1.584 bln barrels, Mexico - second with 259.496 mln barrels.
At the same time, in December, compared to November, the United States reduced oil imports from Russia almost twice to 2.792 mln barrels, and supplies of Russian oil products decreased by 21% to 9.777 mln barrels.
In total, the United States increased imports of oil and oil products in 2021 by 7% to 3.09 bln barrels.
