Daimler Truck suspends cooperation with Russia’s Kamaz, says Handelsblatt newspaper

BERLIN, February 28. /TASS/. Germany’s producer of trucks Daimler Truck will suspend cooperation with Russia’s Kamaz after an almost 12-year cooperation over the events in Ukraine, the Handelsblatt newspaper reported with reference to the company on Monday.

The company will no longer supply components and produce trucks as part of the joint venture DK RUS, the paper wrote, adding that this was Daimler Truck’s response to the criticism of its cooperation with the Russian company, which has been sanctioned by the EU.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on February 24 that in response to a request by the heads of the Donbass republics he had made a decision to carry out a special military operation. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories.

Western countries responded to the actions of the Russian authorities by slapping sanctions against physical and legal entities.
