Putin's speech at Davos week to be comprehensive and interesting, Kremlin promises

According to the spokesman, the Russian president's speech is expected on the afternoon of January 27

MOSCOW, January 26. /TASS/. The scheduled speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Davos Agenda summit on January 27 will be comprehensive, informative and very interesting, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

"The agenda of Davos is well known. These are new world conditions we live in, new challenges, and so on. Therefore, this speech promises to be quite comprehensive and very interesting," the Kremlin spokesman said.

"Of course, I am not going to somehow announce the main points," he added.

However, Peskov hinted that, in general, the discussions at the event will revolve around how the world is changing in the era of the pandemic.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, Putin's speech is expected on the afternoon of January 27. "It will be tomorrow in the afternoon. We expect it to start at about two o’clock Moscow time," he said.

"It is Davos itself that provides this teleconference. Once we receive and process the signal, perhaps with a slight delay, we will broadcast it [the President’s speech] virtually directly," Peskov specified.

In December 2020, the Geneva headquarters of the World Economic Forum said the traditional annual venue where business and global policy leaders converge would take place in Singapore from May 13 to 16. The regular Davos Agenda event is scheduled to be held in an online format from January 25 to 29.
