Russia designs robot turret for assault units

The robot has successfully passed the trials in close to combat conditions, the Popular Front said

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. The designers of Varan tracked platform and of DUP-2 turret joined efforts to create a mobile robot for assault actions. The unmanned vehicle has successfully passed trials close to combat ones, the Popular Front told TASS.

"The main task of the vehicle is to drive as close to hostile positions as possible, find the target and destroy it. The control distance is up to 15 kilometers. There are daytime and night monitoring regimes and stabilization in motion. We shall soon send the first samples to the front line for tests in combat conditions," Popular Front representative from Ivanovo region Vladimir Krupin said.

The robot has successfully passed the trials in close to combat conditions, the Popular Front said.
