MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. Russian National Guard special forces have downed a Ukrainian drone in the Kharkov region, the Guard’s press service told TASS on Friday.
"Russian National Guard troops downed an A1-SM Furia-class unmanned aerial vehicle during a reconnaissance operation in a forest in the immediate vicinity of military positions. This multi-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle is currently in service with the Ukrainian armed forces and is used for round-the-clock air reconnaissance, target tracking and artillery fire adjusting purposes," the press service said in a statement.
The operating range of the drone is about 50 km, while the drone itself has a service ceiling of 2,500 m, and can stay airborne for up to three hours. The body of the drone is made from ultrahard composites, and the drone has a new layout and is fitted with replaceable heads with cameras, and a ground control and data processing system. "The data recorded by the drone has been retrieved and forwarded to corresponding agencies," the Guard said.
