Russia delivers nearly 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine - Defense Ministry

According to the general, in the past 24 hours, nine humanitarian missions have been carried out in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics

MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Russia has delivered nearly 10,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Ukraine since March 2 and has carried out 781 humanitarian missions, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, the chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Saturday.

"Since March 2, 9,977.3 tonnes of humanitarian cargo have already been delivered to Ukraine, 781 humanitarian actions have been carried out," said Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine.

According to the general, in the past 24 hours, nine humanitarian missions have been carried out in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson Region, when 197 tonnes of daily essentials, medicines and food were handed out to civilians.

"On April 9, 12 humanitarian actions have been planned and are currently being carried out in Kharkov, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, in Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, during which 338 tons of basic necessities, medicine and food will be distributed," he said.

Mizintsev added that more than 22,500 tonnes of food, medicines and basic necessities had been prepared at collection points in Russia. The colonel general reminded that over 9,500 temporary accommodation centers were still operating in Russian regions.
