Over 63,000 requests for evacuation from Ukraine received during day — defense ministry

Despite the existing agreements, the Ukrainian side did not submit to Russia’s humanitarian response coordination headquarters any official written consents on Wednesday, Mizintsev said

MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. More than 63,000 requests for evacuation from Ukraine have come to Russia’s humanitarian response coordination headquarters over the past day, Mikhail Mizintsev, chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Wednesday.

Despite the existing agreements, the Ukrainian side did not submit to Russia’s humanitarian response coordination headquarters any official written consents on Wednesday, he said, adding that Kiev’s authorities did not notify foreign embassies, relevant structures of the United Nations, the OSCE, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international organizations in Ukraine about scheduled humanitarian operations.

"Once again, they [Ukraine’s authorities] did not inform the population about the time and location of humanitarian corridors. People do not know where and when they can go to save their lives. The coordination headquarters received via various communications channels more than 63,000 requests on these matters from around Ukraine during the past day alone. These requests were not only about humanitarian corridors to Russia, but also about humanitarian corridors in any other direction to safe places," he said.
