NEW YORK, October 8. /TASS/. The US military has prepared new options for military operations in Iran for President Donald Trump to consider, NBC News reported, citing sources.

Members of Trump’s national security team discussed US strategy toward Iran and Yemen’s Houthi rebels at a meeting at Camp David last week, according to the report. The military subsequently prepared new options for operations in Iran. No decisions have been made, the sources said.

The Atlantic magazine earlier reported, citing sources, that the White House had instructed the Pentagon to develop options for strikes on Iranian targets that could be carried out before the congressional midterm elections. According to the report, no final decision has been made, but Trump could order strikes before Election Day. The scale and targets of any potential strikes, as well as whether to proceed with them, remain under discussion.
